Volunteer counters

We are looking to add to our team of counters for the Sunday and Holy Day collections. A volunteer would receive training with an experienced team, and a complete written description of procedures will be provided.

Volunteers will be asked to commit to shifts from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Mondays.

Each volunteer must complete and pass a background check, and we welcome back previous counters. This team will work directly with our bookkeeper, Suzi, and oversight with the Regional Pastoral Associate for Administration, Carmen.

Email Suzi at smantle@sacredhearttacoma.org for details, or call the Parish Office at (253) 472-7738.

On July 1, 2024, as part of the Archdiocese of Seattle's Partners in the Gospel initiative (ArchSeattle.org/Partners), Sacred Heart Parish united with

St. Martin of Tours Parish and Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy (Fife) and All Saints Parish and School (Puyallup) to form a Parish Family.

Learn more about the other Parishes within our Family by clicking the buttons below.

Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy offers an innovative Catholic education in a Christ-centered environment, providing academic excellence and a strong moral foundation in a culturally diverse community. Our students develop the ability to read, write, speak and understand both Spanish and English, preparing them for the global world in which we live.

Commissioning of PFLT and PFAC members

Integral to the implementation of Partners in the Gospel are 2 groups made of parishioners and staff from our 3 Parish communities - the PFLT (Parish Family Leadership Team) and PFAC (Parish Family Advisory Council) - which Father Cal commissioned on July 13, 2025, at All Saints during the 11 am Mass. May the Holy Spirit guide these groups in the months ahead!

PFAC update (September 2025)

The following message is from PFAC Chair Vivian Shannon:

PFAC met again on Sunday, September 7. At that meeting, we made final edits to the parish survey (scroll down to view). We also made initial plans for the parish focus groups/listening sessions that will be held in late October. The intent of these two engagement opportunities is to gather critical information that will help us define who we are now, for later discernment of who we want to become. There is so much to look forward to as our Parish Family forms into a canonical Parish by 2027 through Partners in the Gospel.

We encourage each Parish household to complete ONE survey (available below in English or Spanish to fill out online, or find paper copies at church beginning September 27). We also invite all to October's focus groups/listening sessions. Your voice is integral to this process. PFAC thanks you!
