OCIA

Order of Christian Initiation of Adults and adapted for children

Baptism is the foundation of every Christian life.

OCIA describes the process of initiation as a path of conversion by which seekers, whether adults or children of catechetical age, develop and deepen their relationship with the living God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The path of initiation is not done alone; it involves children, young people and adults who seek to be initiated into the Christian life and indeed the whole community. OCIA is a process intended for adults and adapted for children (over 7 years old) who have decided to join the Catholic faith.
